The Burning House
A house is in fire, but it is still not completely burned down. There are people sleeping inside. The firefighter gets into the house. The first thing he does is to wake them up, for it is impossible to carry them on his back or to give them different tasks while they are still asleep. He cries out, "Wake up, your death is so close." Only few people hear him and wake up. He shouts again, "Wake up, you sleeping people, your sleep is your death." Few others hear his call and wake up.
What has he to do with remaining people? He pours water on them; he even beat them and treats them roughly.
Now in comparison with this parable, people complain, "Why the master's approach gets harsh and rough at times?" First, he says, "Abandon you egotism, your conceit, your selfishness and your self-complacency..." One person out of every thousand may possibly perceive his message. He warns a second time; then again one person out of every hundred may hear it. The next time, he vehemently and fiercely shouts, "Let go of this I-ness, this devil, this darkness, this pain causing and killing house."
Despite all these warnings, these kind reminders, these cries of the master and, if really necessary, his severe treatments and pressures, only few persons wake finally up. Of these few, some get up at once, some later and still others after a lifetime. Those who get up sooner leave this house of pain and death sooner; and those who wake up later leave the place later...
So many rescuers like messengers and men of God came to wake people up; yet so many of them are asleep or in other words they are dead. Thanks to the rescuer's measures, those who were hard to wake and those close to death are finally awakened, but there's no chance for the first group.
Meanwhile, the rescuer focuses his efforts on the living individuals and don't pay much attention to dead ones; though he may have the intention to bury possibly their corpse... Among these latter, few had truly longed for deliverance and a real life but because of inhaling too much polluted air they intoxicated themselves to death. In their heart, they believed in God and loved Him, and for this reason they shall be spared from death.
Although their soul has left their body, but the silver strand is not yet broken and this keeps the connection between the soul and the body.
They have not been sealed off. If the silver strand was broken, no rescuer could ever help them.
Since the rescuer knows well all signs of life and death, he takes notice of these apparently dead people and realizes that they are not irrevocably dead - or sealed off; he therefore begins to resuscitate them by applying every technique and method he has learnt so far. He uses super techniques, gives them electric shocks, administers medicines, uses artificial respiration, presses on sensitive spots, gives them massages and if necessary, he cuts into their body with a lancet to stimulate the blood circulation. In a word, the rescuer tries numerous methods to prevent a definitive separation of their soul and their absolute death. Eventually, he shall succeed for he is the Lord's elected one; and He always chooses the bests...
Now few minutes have passed. In terms of human life these minutes may count for tens of years. A group of people are awakened; some of them are completely awakened while others are somewhere between awakening and sleep.
Many people are dead. They are definitely dead. The rescuer has completely broken up with this them for they have been consciously hostile to the Lord and behaved against His will...
The first stage is to get up from sleep. The next, the rescuer takes those who are awakened out of the burning house - the place of pain, annihilation and ignorance. The second stage consists of leaving the house and entering the life's space...
