Teachings of Mysteries

During a meeting, the Master answered to questions about teachings of mysteries and esoteric instructions which are considered to be a stage of confidential and secret teachings.  In his brief lecture, he also answered to questions regarding the inner flow of divine guidance.  Here is a selection of his responses.

When teaching mysteries, it is not conceivable to say that is a mystery.  Mystery means unknown - an unknown originating from unknowable.  Mysteries cannot be distinguished and identified as the fifth, the sixth or the seventh mystery.

We can neither discern nor determine mysteries; otherwise they will not be mysteries at all.  Mysteries may be divulged but they cannot be separated and known.

Mysteries can be comprehended but not expressed; they can be experienced but not explained.  It is not right to say this is a written collection of mysteries; for they cannot be even be written - terrestrially written.  They can be inscribed in man's heart and soul and not in thoughts and ideas...

Known is something that exists in the world of known things - where thought and distinction are functional.  Unknowns or mysteries are in the unknown world - a world where man's distinction and thought have no access to it. The world of mysteries has been and shall remain unknown to human thinking - judgment and deduction.  Thinking and reasoning are means of cognition in the visible world, the world of matter and energy.  However, mysteries are related to the unseen world - not visible.   Nonetheless, mysteries can be perceived by love and awareness.  Visions and intuitive spiritual states (moods) are tow means to discover the unknowns...

One cannot separate, classify or categorize mysteries for these activities are related to mind and thinking and not to heart and vision.  One has to discover mysteries; they are tangible and perceptible.  One can become aware of them, comprehend them, but it is not possible to acquire a verbal knowledge of them.  Perception of mysteries manifests itself through one's intuitive state (moods) and feeling; the more one immerses oneself in them, the deeper one's ecstasy and exalted feelings...

Mysteries are not computable.  Mountain, tree, river,... all these can be counted, but sunlight is neither calculable nor dividable.  Unknowable things have the same nature as light.  One has to expose oneself open to light and experience it.  It is not possible to reach light by darkness.  Earthly reflection is of the nature of darkness and cannot penetrate into the world of light and mysteries.  Is it possible to acquire certainty by pessimism?...

You can hear mysteries but you cannot listen to them.  You can observe them in you vision but you cannot see them.  They cannot be reached for they are pervasive.  Just as one cannot hold and hide the light in one's hand...

Is it possible to decompose love, awareness and intelligence and break them down into different elements and fix a specific location for each of them?   Is it possible to say love is this or that?  No, one should experience love, awakening and awareness.  One should feel them, taste them and perceive them.  These are qualities, entirely qualities.  Their quantity is not separated from their quality...

A person may have a long time experience of love and know many things about how to love.  However, he cannot explain it, express it or teach its peculiarities to someone else, for he knows but he has nothing to say.

He has come into contact with it without discerning; he knows it without thinking.  This does not mean that he is dissimulating mysteries, for they are hidden by themselves.  Were they not hidden, there would be no mystery at all.  Mysteries can be taught but not with words, for they are related to the world of meaning and silence.  One has to feel them.

Human brain is a device of distinction and cognition in the world of knowledge and knowable, while man's heart is a means of discovering mysteries.  One can perceive them with love and silence and not with speculation.  One has to open his heart and not his mind...

Breathe mysteries as you breathe air.  You have to breathe but in the world of mysteries.  Then it will be unconceivable to talk about the whys and wherefores of them...

To remain alive, you have to breathe in and breathe out the air.  You should also breathe mysteries to revive and flourish your spirit and soul.  You have to be within them and live with them...

It is likely for an illiterate person, a farmer or a simple workman to have entered the world of mysteries and the Divine Kingdom; yet if you ask them to explain their experience, they would not have anything to say.  They may not even know how to talk at all.  Just as most prophets and great spiritual figures had apparently been illiterate and lacked academic education...

Earthly reflection - brain-generated thoughts - is unable to penetrate into the world of cosmic reflection, for it is of an inferior and lower quality.  It is not possible to reach speechlessness and wordlessness by words and expressions.  It is not possible to reach light by darkness.  Obscurity shall lead to another form of obscurity.

Thinking and discernment have the same nature as darkness and they cannot penetrate into the world of mysteries and love.  Where distinction and speculative knowledge exist, mysteries are absent.  Mysteries mean not knowing which does not mean ignorance at all but it means to give up talking and speculating...

Mysteries are like rain that pours down.  There is no rain without cloud and no mystery without silence.  It is not possible to count the rain or to measure it or consider its whys and wherefores, you have to enjoy it.  If you want to explain it, you shall not be able to feel it.  Likewise, you have to go under the rain of mysteries and let it pour over you.  Don't fear getting wet or catching a cold for this rain cleans up, heals, grants life, and caresses the soul.  This rain is the most beautiful, enchanting and fascinating melody.  Drinking from the rain of mysteries intoxicates.  Intoxicated and selfless, you shall be delivered from your self...

Don't try to collect or save mysteries; they can neither be collected nor saved, for they cannot be counted or identified...

It is not possible for someone who flies to describe his experience as it is.  He can only say it is delightful, beautiful, very nice...

Mysteries are like a reviving sleep.  Is it possible to analyze or to discern     your sleep?  If so, it is not a sleep anymore.  You can only talk about some sort of feeling you had while sleeping, explanations like: "What a profound sleep", "what a strange dream", "it was as if I was in a different world", "It seemed as though I was dead", "It was a sweet dream", "I whished I had not waken up", "I was real hurt", "I was chocking", "It was as if I was flying"...

Vedas, Koran and ... are inclusive books of mysteries, yet they have a simple appearance.  This is how mysteries are.  Even though they had been written down yet they cannot be interpreted.  You have to penetrate into the inner depth of the holy books to understand those very simple sentences.  You have to penetrate them with love and rapture.  The principal interpreters of these so-called books of mysteries are your heart and your soul.  The treasury of mysteries is the sentence, "There is no Deity but Allah."  However, if you interpret and analyze this sentence, you shall end up with a handful of words.  To comprehend it, you have to penetrate its meaning and its insight...

Mysteries can be taught, yet they cannot be the object of science.  They manifest themselves through your attitudes.  The experience of mysteries can be felt but not thought of.  They can be perceived but not explained.  They can be understood but not expressed.

You have to float in them. Throw yourself into this unbounded ocean. Drown yourself in it and become one with it.

It is not possible to embrace the ocean.  If you want to become one with it, you cannot discern or judge it or talk about it, for you have to drown yourself in it.  A drowned person has neither the opportunity nor the possibility to judge and or think.  He even does not know he is drowned;

he is delivered from his self.

As long as you are aware of your individuality, divine mysteries cannot be experienced.  To the degree that your individuality fades away, you shall have an increasing and more complete experience of divine mysteries.  But when does this individuality exist?  Whenever you think, distinguish, judge, discern between right and wrong, consider pros and cons, compare and separate, you are still conscious of your self...

Inhale the fragrance of love for it holds the entire mystery of existence.  However if you busy yourself with its whys and wherefores, there shall remain no love to perfume the air; or else you are unable to perceive it.

This fragrance of love is, indeed, the very teaching of mysteries.  It enchants, intoxicates and enraptures.

It is possible to verify the teaching of mystery by the quality of one's feeling, awareness, comprehension and experience.  The more one's awareness and comprehension come to maturity, the greater and deeper the flow of mysteries shall be.  A more perfect feeling and insight of a person is an indication to his deeper experience of mysteries...

Children have a deeper understanding and consciousness of divine mysteries than adults.  In fact, as people advance in years, they become less likely to experience divine mysteries; for the older they get, the more they think and discern.  They become more astute and methodic and their doubts and ambiguities about things increase.  With age we become more interested in verbal science for we need it to defend ourselves, to protect our interests, to show-off and to serve our selfish ends and our conceit.  We need it to live in the world of darkness, on earth.  Isn't it that blind people need a cane to walk?  Do we really need thoughts and doubts to make our way in this world of lightlessness?  Reflection and discernment are, indeed, necessary, but only in the field of material and tangible matters.

It is forbidden for material thoughts to enter the world of unknowns for they are poisoned with hesitation.  A snake is unable to fly for it has no wing; it is stuck to the ground.  Obviously, a reptile's judgment about spiritual matters and cosmic phenomenon and divine mysteries is worthless and ludicrous.  It is similar to those who wish to discover divine mysteries and spiritual worlds by their reckoning, reasoning, discussion and argumentation.  A high-flying eagle knows about the sky what a crawling snake could never know in its wildest dreams.

To experience mysteries of divine galaxies, one has to fly, to be in them and with them.  It is useless to sit and guess from afar or to talk about it.  To taste the pleasure of flying, one has to fly, to float into the elation of experiencing.

A seed has to be set in the course of teachings of divine mysteries until it flowers and grows into a tree...

Divine mysteries are like a flow of awareness and wakefulness that increases constantly one's awakening and exalts one's feelings as well.  In some respect, Paradise and Hell are but two forms of feeling pleasure and pain.

In fact, in every science we seek to improve and refine our feeling and increase its degree of enjoyment...

The experience of mysteries can be compared to smelling a flower, swimming in river or flying.  How an eagle teaches its eaglets to fly?  Does it explain to them or does it teach through observation?  A master teaches mysteries in a same way.

Mysteries are not explainable; they cannot be seized for they caress everything with their grips.  They make you passionate and not wise.  They raise hurricanes and do not stabilize.  They generate movement and keep from stopping.  They do not immobilize for they are dancing and make everything dance...

Divine mysteries are not to be taught like verbal sciences; however, they can be perceived.  We ought to let the door open, to empty ourselves so they flow through us and we shall thus polish ourselves in this current.  When you are polished and acquire a mirror-like transparency, the Lord shall manifest Himself in you and His Image shall appear in this clean mirror.  That featureless image, that formless feature, that shapeless craftsman, that soul-bestowing painter shall manifest Himself in you, O, earthy creature.  Heavens and Heavenly Kingdom shall manifest themselves within your being...
