The Way of Presence

Q:  Don't you believe that this remembrance and what you consider as "calling on the Lord" is a bit old and out of date?  Don't you think man needs other thing than calling on God?

A:  He is Ancient and He is New.  He is older than anything old and newer than anything new.  How many truths are there so we leave one aside and proceed with another one?  Is there more than one truth?  On the other hand, how deep have you reached to the depth of this very truth that you now consider it as old.  Know that there is no limit to the depth of this truth; therefore it is impossible for it to be limited.  Man is drinks water for thousands of years; can he say drinking water has become now obsolete and one has to replace it by something else.

His name is the Water of life; and without water, man's life is not unconceivable.

Q:  Do you believe the global modern age will accept this [point of view]?

A:  We have an opposite view.  It is up to the Divine Presence to accept or refuse modernism.  If the Divine Presence does not accept it, Modernism will collapse.  Even though Modernism may well be inspired by this very presence, yet the Lord's Presence is above the acceptance of refusal of [this movement].  Modernism does still need the Divine Presence to continue its existence and if this need remains unsatisfied its days are counted for sure.

Q:  Considering everyday occupations and commitments, how can people still [have time to] meditate on God?

A:  What you have just said is as if you would say how people find time to breathe.  At least that is how we hear you.  Paying attention to the Lord and communicating with the Divine Presence is for one's spirit and soul like breathing and being in contact with air.  If you come into contact with it, it will function spontaneously - with no additional effort.

Q:  What if I do not feel like invoking or coming into contact with God?  What should I do?  Should I force myself to do it?

A:  You are escaping something - something nauseous, a bad tasting meal.  You have repulsive impressions, heard ugly accounts and kept ugly images in your mind concerning divine communication and the Lords Presence.  You are not escaping the Lords Presence but you are despising and running away from what has been earlier conceived in your mind about "communicating with God", from your images and deductions.  Accept the reality and face it; then you will truly realize what you are doing and you will do what you have to.

Q:  Your emphasis on communicating with God and God's Presence and such conceptions sound like a tendency towards religion?

A:  We see it as a sort of truth-orientation for He is the Only Truth of the whole existence.  Communicating with the Living Truth is more like spiritual orientation than religious orientation.  I have not laid emphasis on any specific religion; The Divine Presence is the soul of every religion.

Q:  Does the Divine Presence resume your entire teachings?

A:  This very Divine Presence you speak about embraces the whole existence, the entire mysteries and every structure of being.  Yes, what we say and what we teach are various dimensions of this limitless presence - a presence comprising this very existence.

Q:  Besides communicating with God, could you still mention some other dimensions of the Divine Presence?

A:  Transcendental thinking, transcendental quality, transcendental ethic ...and every transcendental art are all various dimensions of "the Divine Presence."

Q:  I don't know many of these things.  Could you please give a simpler explanation?

A:  Intelligence, comprehension, self-consciousness, attention, observation, beauty, good mood, sound and exalting deeds and thoughts, all these are aspects of the Creative Divine Presence.

Q:  What is the nature of the Divine Presence that comprises all these dimensions?

A:  [The Divine Presence] is when the Lord is in one's field of attention.  It is His remembrance.  It is to be in contact with that living and unbounded truth.  It is God-consciousness and to live in God.

Q:  What is the nature of that Presence?

A:  It is a relative existence of the Living Truth in a relative world.  The Lord's Presence is the entire existence.  Quantities are features of the Presence while qualities are its nature.  The Presence is the flow of truth.

Q:  What do we have to do with this Presence?

A:  We are one [with it] but we do not live in oneness with it.  Therefore, we have to perceive it.  In order to feed from and be filled with it, we have to get in contact and to communicate with it.  Then, we shall realize that "oneness."

Q:  How can we feed ourselves from God's Presence - this very Presence you believe to be the flow of truth and existence?  How can we come into contact with it?

A:  By paying attention to it, living consciously in it, acting according to it, thinking about it, spreading it...and trying to reveal it [you could connect to it and feed yourself from it.]

Q:  Could you please suggest some practical ways to communicate with the Divine Presence?

A:  To call on divine names and to act in His Presence.  [We have] to be aware we are in His Presence and He is watching us.  If we do not see Him, He sees us.  [Another way is] to communicate and to hold communion with Him - what is called "Namaz"  [or prayer].  Of course, in every religion and divine cultures, the [ritual of] Namaz has taken a specific form to itself.  Act for the Lord and be his servant.  This is a practical contact.  Begin every act by His name.  Love Him and show your love to Him for this is [to live] "the storm of Presence."  Perceive the quality of life and existence of everything.

[Try] to perceive the quality of life and everything's existence by paying attention to them - an attention inspired by aspiration for truth and out of love.  That is how the [Divine] Presence is going to reveal itself to you.

One can also perceive His Presence in silence - in the same way that it reveals itself through words and thoughts...

Q:  How about meditation?  Are contemplation and meditation effective means of coming into contact with this Presence?

A:  Whatever we said are various forms of meditation.  Various modes of meditations - authentic and not false ones - are aspects of divine communications.

Q:  What do you consider as the best meditation?

A:  To live lovingly in the Divine Presence is the best of meditations.

Q:  How can we be in love with God?

A:  We are in love with.  We have been born in love.  We have been in love even before coming into this world.  We simply should not deny this love; we should not stand against it or block it; we have to let it reveal itself.

Q:  How does love reveal itself?

A:  [Love reveals itself] if one acts out of love, talks about it, looks through its eyes, spreads it...lives it and surrenders to it - a surrender with one's whole being.
