Understanding and Awareness are the Best Basis
Q: Show us an extraordinary act so we believe in you.
A: There are so many hidden points in what you have just said. First, who asked you to believe in me? Nobody expects you to accept or deny me. Your acceptance or denial will influence your own life. Secondly, suppose that I would perform an extraordinary act, but are you going to believe in me? No, that is not the right way; knowledge and belief are born from love. [You will not] really know something and someone, unless your mind and heart are filled with love. Thirdly, in case an extraordinary act would be the cause of ones knowledge and belief, such belief would be extremely shaky, unstable and unfounded for there are so many people who are capable of performing extraordinary acts - like so many magicians, fakirs and witches. But can we accept them as a wise person and guide we believe in? It is possible that one could fly into heavens but be not able to teach one single word. Animals are also endowed with amazing capabilities of foreknowing and energy-generating, but is this a good reason to believe in them or take them as a mediator between the Lord and yourself?!!! If you also practice asceticism and do special exercises for a while, and work on your breathing or such other performances, you will witness amazing and odd phenomena. Yet are these phenomena going to confirm your existence as a divine teacher, an enlightened person aware of life's mysteries? Of course, not!
Pay attention to the base and foundation of every move. Understanding and awareness are the best bases. Understanding is born from thinking and thinking is an offspring of love...
