Various Subjects

Q:  Often, while speaking, you ask,"Do you understand?" or "do you realize?" Is there any reason to that?

A:  Most of the times I realize the person who is listening is not hearing; or he is listening but does not understands.  That is why I remind him, "Do understand and perceive."

Q:  You have said every human being (as well as every living being), consciously or not, is continuously acknowledging God's existence and repeating His names.   Yet, when a person, for instance, blasphemes and openly says, "God does not exist," what kind of acknowledging would that be?

A:  Suppose the blasphemer utters blasphemies like, "O God, you do not exist," or, "O God, you do not exist at all."  Notice that at the beginning of his sentences, he is unconsciously and unknowingly addressing a truth.  He says, "O God," and that is his very first confession to the existence of God.

Both a believer and a pagan breathe and in each inhalation and exhalation they, consciously or not, repeat God's names.  If you listen to your breathing, you shall notice remembrance of God.

Q:  The Lord says, "Everyone is going to return to Him," or, "Everyone is submitted and obedient to Him."  Then what difference would be between a good and a bad person?

A:  Evil and Divine Spirits belong both to the Lord.  One's course is going to lead to the creative and blissful presence of God while the other one takes to His destructive and tormenting presence.  Man follows either the destructive or the creative and flourishing course.  In fact, both represent the course of God's will.  To follow either of them is to draw closer to either one's source.  Therefore, some will find themselves in the destructive and tormenting presence of God - destructive for humans - called Hell, while others will be settled in His creative presence called Paradise.

Q:  Since the Lord is so good, so great and so beautiful with so many sublime attributes, why should we fear Him so much?  And, why so much emphasis has been put on fearing Him?

A:  When a lover cares for his beloved, he is always worried that she may leave him; he fears loosing her; or he fears she may be displeased.  Yet this is a sacred and a sweet fear.  When one fears God, he fears being separated from Him; he fears his wrath and displeasure.  This is a lover's fear from his beloved.  But does really a lover fear his beloved?

Q:  Can you help me out of this hard and horrible life?

A:  No one is capable of saving or guiding people except the Spirit of God and those who carry Him.

Q:  Is this life truly [based upon] determinism or free will?  Which one of determinists or free will advocates are right?

A:  Determinists are right and free will advocates are right as well.  However, each of them tells one part of the truth.  Determinism and free will are two sides of the same coin.  Depending on which side you look at it, you will see either heads or tails.  Yet the coin [of destiny] is neither heads nor tails but a coin.  Likewise, the course of life is neither determinism nor free will; it is a concept beyond these two.

Q:  What is the difference between surrender and obedience?

A:  Surrender is an acceptance and reception out of love.  It is when a lover listens to his beloved - [acts according to what his beloved tells him to do].  But obedience is to carry out orders for fear of punishment or expectation of reward...

Q:  Why do give specific assignments and programs to some of your followers but there is no such opportunity for many other ones?

A:  As long as we do not accomplish our general tasks and duties there is no use fulfilling individual and minor ones.  If you do not eat main nutriments your body needs what good does it to take vitamins and minerals?  On the other hand, as long as a person does not show a minimum of surrender and acceptance, do you think it proper to give him individual programs?  As long as doubt, resistance and fear harbor in us, it is unlikely that the Divine Spirit would directly guide and lead us.

Q:  When speaking of heart, does it have reference to our bodily organ?

A:  [Each of our] physical and ethereal bodies and even [our] spirit have a heart.  But in most cases, speaking of heart refers to the heart in [our] astral body.

Q:  Master, could you help us solve our religious problems and ask you about our religious commandments?

A:  It is not so.  Let's everyone act according to one's duty.  I am not a religious Moslem jurist or a rabbi or a priest as you may believe.  Our intention is to teach life and love and not religion.  The Art of transcendental Life is about the spirit and the soul of religion and not about its body and appearance.

Q:  Once when I addressed a person and said, "Dear friend, Mister, could you move away," you told me that was not the right way to address him.  Why?

A:  When you [address someone] as a friend, it means he is a person you love.  When you say "dear", it means he is lovable as well.  Thus, "dear friend" means you are someone I love and you are lovable as well.  If that is a one-sided friendship, then with one eye you see a friend in him and with the other you may address him as a Mister - in a unilateral friendship, you refer to his gender, too.  [In other words,] since you consider him from two aspects, you could emphasize his gender and you address him as, "My friend, Mister..."

However, "dear friend" means that both your eyes look at him with friendship and love.  Therefore, there would be no room for distinction of gender and no duality for calling him in two ways.  The right thing would be to address him as "dear friend.''

Q:  Master, I do really love you, why?

A:  Man has an amour proper - self respect - and you are in love with yourself.  As much of that amour proper you find in another person and you perceive it, you will love it.  Wherever you find a realized [image] of yourself, you will fall in love.  In fact, you love yourself in me.

Q:  What should I do to be able to read peoples mind and thoughts?

A:  Put it more directly and ask how can I rob people of their most sensitive and private things?  You are asking me to tell you how to steal.  I am not teacher of thieves and untrustworthy people.
