Being's Soil
Our being resembles a barren-unproductive soil. No seed of any kind shall grow in it. It will be a waste of time, for it won't yield any fruit.
Divine teachings restore the ground of our being - our inwardness, mind and heart - to productivity and fertility so the seed shall sprout and grow.
However hard we invoke God's name, it has no effect and no seed grows within us. Nevertheless, one true utterance of His name shall bring heavens and earth under our authority. Spiritual seeds of such acts of worship like our daily prayers, fasts and good deeds remain idle and do not enliven nor cultivate the dead desert of our being...Yet divine guidance cultivates this ground; it cuts out noxious weeds like conditionality and delusion; it clears out the land from gravels and stones and it eliminates worms and blights. Divine teachings ploughs and irrigates our inner ground and prepare it for the growth of our being's tree - the Divine Spirit.
Why so many of our prayers remain unanswered? Why God does not manifest Himself in our lives at the very moment we invoke Him? Why divine words do not exert the necessary influence on our being and life?...The reason is that our acts are superficial and our deeds have bear no spirit; they are not alive, they're dead...Why those seeds do not grow? For we lack the necessary conditions for their growth and flowering.
Divine teachings provide the favorable conditions for these seeds to grow and to bloom...
