For the Lord's Sake and not People

Q:  Master, people may make fun of us or think we have lost our mind.

A:  Do you live for gaining others' approval?  It does not import how they react to your act and teachings; the important thing is that you have fulfilled your duty... People have also mocked divine prophets and saints.  They have treated them as mad and abnormal; they have bitten and imprisoned them; they have banned and humiliated them.  Nonetheless, godly men were always after divine approval; their goal was to earn the Lord's satisfaction and pleasure...

The Lord was testing their submission and fidelity.  What matters for you is to accomplish your duty in the best way you can and not the result you get.
