Selfishness Does Not Lead to God

In human history, no one has ever been guided nor reached the truth through selfishness and conceit.  No one has ever reached union with God by caring about oneself or going after one's desires. 

According to God's prophet, "He who has sought his own salvation has lost it, indeed."  This means he who clings to his life is, in fact, ruining it.
